Balayage Coloring
What is balayage, you ask? Balayage is a French word meaning “to sweep or to paint,” it is exactly that when it comes to hair!
Balayage is a hair coloring technique where the color is literally painted onto the hair. This result is a graduated, natural-looking color that is huge hair trend right now. Balayage coloring can be done with a variety of color combos on a variety of hairstyles.
Brazilian Silk Treatment
The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment will make your hair appear naturally straight and healthy because it has added more weight by bonding keratin (the protein that makes up hair) to the hair shaft. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz and loosen the curl while creating radiant shine and leaving your hair silky smooth.
The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment can last up to 10-12 weeks. The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment is cumulative; the more times you have it done, the healthier the hair will be and the longer the result will last. Professional take home retail care products are recommended for all Brazilian Silk Services. The life of this service cannot be guaranteed without their use.
No, the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment is always applied from beginning to end (the entire head).
As often as necessary. Since it is a cumulative process, the more you do it the longer it lasts. Most clients have the service done every 3 months.
Since many clients have special hair and scalp needs (i.e. dandruff, psoriases, etc.) we encourage clients to rotate the usage of their special needs hair care products with shampoos and conditioners especially formulated for colored or chemically treated hair.
The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment on average takes approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours to complete.
There have been no clinical tests performed on the safety of performing the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment on pregnant women or women who are breastfeeding. As a result, we advise against pregnant or breastfeeding women receiving the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment.
Yes, the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment performs on hair extensions. It would be best for the stylist to perform the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment separately on the extensions prior to putting them into the hair. If you wish to perform the treatment on extensions that are already in the hair, the stylist will need to be extremely careful when applying the heat to the bonded area. If the stylist is careful and works to first separate the hair extensions from the client’s own hair, a great result can be achieved.
What if my hair is platinum blonde? Yes but it is important for every stylist to assess the condition of the client’s hair to make sure it is in a healthy enough state to apply extreme heat through the use of a flat iron. If the hair is in questionable condition, or begins to yellow, the recommendation is to turn the flat iron down from 450 degrees to approximately 400. The stylist will have to determine the appropriate amount of heat to apply.
Yes, you can swim in either the pool or the ocean after you receive the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment, however, the treatment may be slightly compromised if you swim on a regular basis. As with any chemically treated hair, we recommend that you first wet the hair with tap water prior to getting it wet in a chlorinated pool then washing it as soon as you can after swimming.
It depends. Since the treatment acts as a filler for the hair by attaching structure into the damaged areas, you would not want to use anything that could block the process prior to the treatment. Colors used to “freshen” or “tone” the hair act as fillers so these would not be done prior to the treatment.
Base colors: Base colors could be done first if you are only coloring the regrowth (roots). (Note: It is important to keep the treatment away from the new base color so it does not discolor and never pull the color through the hair since this would block some of the treatment.)
Highlights: Highlights could be done prior to the treatment as long as they do not require a toner to be applied.
Low-lights, Glosses, Toners are best used a week or more after receiving the treatment.
For Best Results: Since colors utilize the structure of the hair to attach, doing the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment first will repair the structure. Applying color one week later will give the treatment time to stabilize and your results will be more vibrant than ever before.
Yes, the hair will revert to its original state once the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment has completed its life cycle; however, the condition of the hair will actually improve as a result of the fortifying and conditioning nature of the product.
It depends on how close to the scalp the product is applied. If someone wants flatter hair, then YES they can lose volume. If you have fine hair, then NO your hair will not lose volume as a result of receiving the treatment. Your hair will maintain its natural volume and you will still receive great bend and memory when blow-drying and/or using a curling iron.
Yes. The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment actually works best on chemically treated hair, and helps to improve the hair’s condition by fortifying each strand with essential proteins and conditioners. When placed on top of over-processed hair, the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment actually brings the hair back to life.
The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment will last up to 10-12 weeks or more. The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment is cumulative; the more times you have it done, the healthier the hair will be and the longer the result will last.
It depends. The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment is not a relaxer – it’s a FILLER. Think of it as repairing the hair versus straightening it. If your hair is wavy, the BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment will make your hair appear naturally straight and healthy because it has added more weight by bonding keratin (the protein that makes up hair) to the hair shaft. If your hair is very curly, it will minimize frizz and loosen the curl while creating radiant shine and leaving your hair silky smooth.
The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment will actually improve the health of color-treated/highlighted hair by conditioning the hair while sealing the cuticle. The more porous the hair the better the results thus the color is more enhanced, frizz is reduced and the hair has a radiant shine.
The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment is effective on all hair types; thick, thin, dry, chemically damaged, blondes, brunettes, straight and/or curly. This professional treatment works on the porosity in the hair to improve the health of the hair by conditioning while smoothing the cuticle to eliminate frizz and create radiant shine.
The hair can be washed or styled immediately after the BRAZILIAN SILK™ NECTAR Professional Keratin Treatment Professional Treatment, or as normal. The BRAZILIAN SILK™ Professional Treatment has NO RULES to follow after receiving the treatment. As soon as you leave the salon, continue on with your life as normal.
